GreenCape currently works as the Secretariat of the South African Plastics Pact. The SA Plastics Pact is a platform that brings together key role-players from right across the plastics value chain to rethink and redesign the future of plastics. A particular focus is on packaging and the need to forge plastic supply chain commitments that tie in with global commitments, but which are tailored to the South African context. One of their projects, in partnership with a supporting member the African Reclaimer’s Organisation (ARO), and supported by WRAP UK, focuses on providing educational videos on the lives of informal waste reclaimers for consumers.

We created an educational video detailing a typical work day for a street reclaimer and showcasing their role in the recycling value chain.
